URGENT APPEAL
Nepal flash floods: Families need your help
On 26 August 2026 a catastrophic flash flood swept through villages in northern Nepal. Within minutes, homes, roads, bridges and critical infrastructure were destroyed, leaving families separated from loved ones and uncertain about what comes next.
Tens of thousands of people have been affected by this disaster, with many families now homeless and communities cut off from assistance.
Caritas is already there with emergency aid. Our teams are assessing needs and helping families who have lost shelter, food and basic household items. Community kitchens have been established to ensure people can access meals while normal services remain disrupted.
Nepal is a country with close ties to New Zealand. Many Kiwis have travelled there and, formed lasting friendships and experienced the generosity of its people.
Your donation can help provide emergency shelter, food, household essentials and other lifesaving support. Help us to assist families as they begin the difficult journey of recovery.
