On 26 August 2026 a catastrophic flash flood swept through villages in northern Nepal. Within minutes, homes, schools and health facilities were buried in mud and debris. Many families now face a long struggle to rebuild their lives after losing loved ones and livelihoods. Tens of thousands of people are now homeless.
