Since joining Caritas in 2022, Mena Antonio has led humanitarian responses in Gaza, Ukraine and the Pacific, strengthened advocacy for climate justice and climate debt, and promoted development across the Pacific and Southeast Asia.
Mena grew up in New Zealand in a Samoan Catholic family. After completing a law degree at Victoria University of Wellington, she joined the NZ Army before moving into legal, leadership and governance roles. Mena is married with two daughters and active in her local community.
