Day of Prayer for Refugees and Migrants 2025

Theme: Migrants, Missionaries of Hope

Welcome to the Day of Prayer for Refugees and Migrants (DOPFRM) — a moment of prayerful reflection and shared commitment across our Catholic schools and communities.

This year, the day will be marked in parishes on Sunday, 22 June, but schools are encouraged to engage with the resources in the lead-up to that date, using them in a way that best suits their learning programmes.

The purpose of this day is to honour those who have been forced to leave their homes, recognising the courage, resilience, and hope they carry with them. It is a special opportunity for Catholic schools to come together in prayer, reflection, and solidarity.

The 2025 theme — Migrants, Missionaries of Hope — is inspired by the Jubilee Year focus: Pilgrims of Hope. Pope Francis reminds us that migrants and refugees are living signs of hope, trusting in God and working toward a better future, even when facing great hardship.

Our Caritas prayer resource invites students and teachers to reflect on the realities faced by displaced people and to respond through prayer and action, in the spirit of love shown by Christ.

Join us as we unite in compassion, stand in solidarity, and become bearers of hope for our brothers and sisters seeking refuge, dignity, and peace.
