Day of Prayer for Refugees and Migrants 2026
Welcome to the Day of Prayer for Refugees and Migrants (DOPFRM) — a moment of prayerful reflection and shared commitment across our Catholic schools and communities.
This year, the day will be marked in parishes on Sunday, 27 September. As this falls during the school holidays, schools are encouraged to use these resources as they see fit, and many will find Term 4 the best time to engage with them.
The purpose of this day is to honour those who have been forced to leave their homes, recognising the courage, resilience, and hope they carry with them. It is a special opportunity for Catholic schools to come together in prayer, reflection, and solidarity.
The 2026 theme — Even Just One of These Children — comes from Pope Leo XIV's message for this year, which asks us to turn our attention especially to children and young people affected by migration. Drawing on the words of Jesus, "Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me" (Matthew 18:5), Pope Leo XIV reminds us that every child has infinite dignity, and that welcoming even one child in need is welcoming Christ himself.
Our Caritas prayer resource invites students and teachers to reflect on the realities faced by displaced children and their families, and to respond through prayer and action, in the spirit of love shown by Christ.
Join us as we unite in compassion, stand in solidarity, and become bearers of hope for our brothers and sisters seeking refuge, dignity, and peace.

This is an annual competition for students to share their creative and unique ideas around how to care for creation. There are no limits… students can write stories or poems… create short videos… show off their artistic or digital skills.

SINGout 4 JUSTICE
This annual competition is a way for students to share their musical talents. Students can join with others, or go solo. All they need to do is select their favourite song about justice and changing the world, record it and send it in.
