All we want is peace: Why your support matters this winter

Nadia from Southern Lebanon has been displaced with her family.

“All we want is peace, peace, peace.”

Nadia looks out the remains of her village in southern Lebanon.

Homes have been destroyed by fighting, leaving families without safety, stability, or the basics needed to survive. Food is scarce. Clean water is difficult to find. For older people, even access to essential medicine is limited.

Yet despite everything, the people of this small settlement stay. If they leave, they say, they may lose their homes forever.

Since US and Israeli forces attacked Iran in February 2026, a conflict has swept across the region. In Lebanon, Israeli bombs and artillery have destroyed thousands of homes, cut off whole communities and left families in need of basic supplies. More than one million Lebanese people have been displaced from their homes.

Reaching those cut off by crisis

Right now, Caritas teams are working to reach communities like Nadia’s, often isolated, vulnerable and cut off by conflict.

Convoys are travelling through damaged roads and unstable areas, delivering food, clean water, hygiene kits and medical supplies to those who need them most.

For many villages, these lifelines are the only support arriving.

The need is immense. Schools have been turned into shelters and health services are stretched to breaking point.

But Caritas is responding, mobilising mobile clinics, community kitchens and emergency aid to meet urgent needs on the ground.

You can help bring hope for people like Nadia and her family.

With your support, Caritas can help provide emergency support to those who need it the most.

In Lebanon and wherever people are suffering around the world, your gift strengthens livelihoods, food security and provides healthcare
