Social Justice Week 2023 - 2026

Imagine Peace For All | Pohewatia te Rangimārie mō te Katoa
Social Justice Week 2023–2025

For three years, our Social Justice Week learning focused on peace — rangimārie. Each year built on the last, moving outward from the personal to the global.

  • 2023 — Peace Begins With You! We learned that peace begins with us, and grows from a loving personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • 2024 — Choose Forgiveness, Know Peace We focused on the importance of forgiveness and reconciliation, especially in our relationships with others.

  • 2025 — Let's Build Peace Together! We widened our view to global peace, and looked at how we can take action and build peace together.

Resources from each of these years remain available below.

2024 Video Reflection Resources

We asked Catholic parishioners and students from across the country reflection questions about forgiveness and reconciliation in our lives and in our faith. These reflection videos show the six key messages we found:

Key Messages - Ngā Kupu Matua:

Jesus Christ serves as the ultimate model of forgiveness and reconciliation.

We are called to forgive others as an expression of God’s love, just as God forgives us.

Through love, repentance, forgiveness, and reconciliation, we build a path to lasting peace.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a sacred means of experiencing God’s love and forgiveness.

Building peace requires forgiveness.

Choosing forgiveness can be difficult, but with open hearts and minds we can know peace.
