Children forming the word 'LOVE' through playful and energetic formations.

Caritas promotes authentic human development. This means development of the whole person. It provides for their economic, cultural, political, social and spiritual wellbeing.

YCC Day is the day when Caritas combines with Catholic schools across New Zealand as together we stand in solidarity for a good cause and raise funds and awareness for a selected focus school.

Our Catholic Bishops are excited about YCC Day and are encouraging all Catholic schools across Aotearoa to join in.

Please watch and share this video with everyone at your school.

But what exactly is YCC Day?

The letters remind us of the purpose:

Children holding up letters that spell out "You are amazing" with some children doing handstands and others sitting on the floor.
Children and adults holding signs that spell out "Our Choice of Thinking" with some climbing, sitting, and interacting.
Children holding colorful letters that spell out 'Youth creating change.'
Children holding up tiles spelling 'Young atheists are' with children doing acrobatic poses around them.
Illustration of coins with numbers, showing the concept of saving and increasing money over time.

For YCC Day in 2023, we are supporting Oecusse School in Timor Leste.

The school is in dire need of support to repair and replace all broken and unsanitary toilet bowls, repair handwashing stations in the toilet facilities, and to fix water pipes for transporting water to different areas in the school.

Join us on Friday, 30 June and show them you care.

A dirty and broken restroom with a squat toilet and tiled walls. Debris and trash are scattered on the floor.
Empty toilet stall with a rough, unpainted concrete floor and partially painted walls.
A large hole in the ground with a pipe and a small filter nearby, surrounded by dirt and debris, partially covered by weathered wooden planks and a blue corrugated metal sheet.
