Pakistan floods 2010

Floods in Pakistan in July-August 2010 were the worst in 80 years. 18 million people struggled to find food and water and to keep a roof over their heads. Caritas is helping people meet basic needs with dignity.

One year on, communities continue to rebuild their lives. Caritas is with the people of Pakistan as they replant their fields, work on water infrastructure and roads and rebuild their homes.

Caritas Aotearoa New Zealand has supported the supply of food, water, health services, shelter, and infrastructure repairs. We have been working through Caritas network member Catholic Relief Services (CRS) in Kohistan in the northwest, and Sindh province in the south. Read about this work through Abdullah's and Kamala's stories below. Thank you to New Zealanders who have given more than $360,000 to our appeal for Pakistan.
