Caritas has worked with Chiga Parish in western Kenya since 2006 to support children who have lost their parents to HIV and AIDS and their guardians.

Chiga Livelihoods Support Project

This programme supports guardians of orphans to run sustainable livelihoods through loan funds and training. Families can provide for their dependants through better farming practices and small business development. The programme also covers education and the medical needs of the children.

In 2012, fifty children received uniforms and school bags and two Fresian cows are now providing milk for the school feeding programme and for sale.
