In 2010 proceeds from Mufti Mania went to Sacred Heart primary school in Safotu, Savai'i (the main northern island in Samoa.) The NZCPPA collected NZ$22,000 from New Zealand Catholic primary schools to benefit a counterpart in Samoa.
The funds raised helped children and young people improve their educational opportunities. It included the building of an additional classroom to strengthen the students’ home economics skills. The classroom for Science and Home Economics will also double as a community centre for skills training and meetings after school’s over.
The school is run by the Sisters of Our Lady of Nazareth, and has 190 students and eight teachers.
