From 2007 to 2009 NZCPPA fundraising gave three years’ support to a community school building project in Rulna, Mt Hagen, Papua New Guinea. This went a long way to support the development of education in the community.
The improvement in school facilities produced dramatic results to school enrolment – jumping 146 percent to almost 300 pupils.
The development also prompted the school to apply for an elevation of its status to level 4 – that of primary school – with the Department of Education.
Three years of giving has demonstrated how a sustained period can help make a difference to young people’s lives!
