Emergencies

Our partners and sister agencies are on the ground to provide immediate relief when disaster strikes, and ongoing rebuilding long after the headlines have faded away.

We usually run two special emergency appeals during the year for particularly significant emergencies. In most cases, we can usually accept donations towards other emergencies that our partners or Caritas members are responding to.

We are currently accepting donations for the Horn of Africa crisis, Christchurch quake, Japan tsunami, and Haiti quake of 2010. We appreciate the efforts schools and students have made to support people in extreme need.

In 2010, Catholic schools raised about $55,000 for emergency relief.
