2005 - Celebrating cultural diversity

New Zealanders think of themselves as a tolerant people, but events over the years demonstrate that this is not always true. Openly racist attacks as well as more subtle incidents of intolerance indicate that we do not always fully value the different cultures and traditions in our society. Our Catholic tradition holds the experience of living with cultural diversity as a universal Church.

This booklet considers some of the issues around cultural diversity in the light of Catholic social teaching.
