2003 - Children in New Zealand

Church social teaching recognises the need to protect children, who are among society’s most vulnerable members. Throughout the world, even in our own society, children are still among those who suffer the most through poverty, violence and lack of participation in society. We are shaken by an awareness that our homes are not always loving places for children.

This booklet outlines some issues for children in New Zealand in the areas of provision, protection and participation rights.
