Donate your tax rebate

It's a great option if you don't normally claim your rebate, or if you would like to give without having to make a separate payment.

Here's how to donate your tax rebate to Caritas:

1. Download this IR526 form or phone IRD on 0800 257 733 to request one.
2. Complete the form.
3. In Box 7, write Caritas' details: Caritas Aotearoa New Zealand, IRD number 46 322 452.
4. In Box 8, please enter the amount you would like to transfer to us – this can either be your total rebate, or a portion of it. Also enter the year.
5. Attach your receipts to the back of the form.
6. Send your completed IR526 form with receipts to the Inland Revenue office closest to you.

The rebate will be transferred to Caritas' bank account.

To receive a receipt for this so you can claim a further rebate next year, please email us or phone 0800 22 10 22. Let us know your name, address, IRD number and amount transferred – and we will receipt these funds in your name when they arrive.

Please note that you will need to update your bank account details with IRD for future tax rebate claims if you wish to channel your tax rebate elsewhere in subsequent years.
