Indonesia Earthquake - Sumatra

Caritas responds to Sumatra quake

Caritas is accepting donations to help survivors of an earthquake on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. Caritas teams are in the worst affected areas in Padang following a 7.6-magnitude earthquake that has destroyed property and left many casualties.

Caritas is one of the first aid agencies to access some of the worst affected rural areas where staff will provide shelter and hygiene equipment to 5,500 families in 23 villages in desperate need.

Caritas believes providing food, clean water, shelter and medical help will be crucial in the first days and weeks after the disaster.
